Can I use others brands’ accessories with Bébé Confort products?

Answer
We want to make life easy for you and so a number of our products, including our sterilizers and bottle warmer, can be used with other brands’ accessories.
Also, our manual breast pump has an adapter for wide or narrow-necked products and is suitable for universal use.

We do not recommend using a microwave to heat bottles because there can be significant differences in temperature between the liquid and the bottle. If you do use a microwave, please be especially careful!
Should I sterilise my baby’s bottles?

Answer
It is crucial to sterilise your baby’s bottles until baby is at least four months old.
Bottles can be sterilised in the following ways:
· in an electric or a microwave sterilizer;
· by boiling in a pan on the hob for several minutes;
· in cold water using sterilisation tablets. You can leave bottles in the solution for up to 24 hours until you are ready to use them again.

Remember that baby’s bottles will also have to be thoroughly cleaned on a regular basis.
What are bisphenol A and phthalates?

Bisphenol A
Bisphenol A (BPA) is a chemical compound found in polycarbonates. It has been used for many years to make plastic objects such as bottles, the inside of drinks cans, and babies’ bottles.
Polycarbonate has always been used for babies’ bottles because of its transparency and heat-resistance.
Several studies have shown that BPA is an endocrine disruptor which can cause hormonal and genetic disorders. As a precaution, France stopped the marketing, import and export of baby bottles containing BPA from July 2010.
From June 2011, European law will also ban the sale of baby bottles containing BPA across Europe. (Directive no. 2011/8/EU).

Phthalates
Phthalates are chemical substances used to make PVC material more flexible. Some phthalates are now classified as CMRs (carcinogenic, mutagenic and reprotoxic chemicals) and have not been used in toys and childcare articles. since 2007 (Directive No. 2005/84/EC and Regulation EC No. 552/2009).
