Results for Car seats

  • Can 3 car seats fit on the back seat of my car?

    Answer

Depending on the type of car, 3 seats may fit on the back seat.
We recommend taking your car to the retailer to check this.

  • Can I also position a car seat on the front passenger seat?

    Answer

Infant and child car seats can be placed on the passenger seat in the car. The rear seat of the car is preferable. An infant car seat for 0-13 months may only be used on the front passenger seat if there is no frontal airbag or if you are sure that it has been deactivated. For car seats for older children (9 months to 12 year), if the front seat is equipped with an airbag, we recommend placing the seat in the rearmost position.

  • Do the Bébé Confort car seats fit in all cars?

    Answer

Our child car seats have been developed as universal car seats. This means that they should fit in almost any car. In accordance with the ECE R44/03 and ECE R44/04 standards, car seats are universal if not more than a certain length of seat belt is required for the installation. The car industry is aware of this. Car manufacturers sometimes build the belts into their cars so that the belt is just short of being long enough for correct installation. If the user manual of your car states that the seat belts are suitable for the use of universal car seats, this should not be a problem. However, we recommend that you fit the car seat first before purchasing it. Your retailer can help you with this.

  • How do I wash the fabric cover?

    Answer

The cover can be washed by hand in accordance with the instructions on the care label. The instruction manual contains detailed instructions on how to remove the fabric cover.

  • I have had an accident while the child was sitting in the car seat. Can I still use the seat?

    Answer

We recommend that the seat should no longer be used. At impact speeds from 30 km/h invisible damage may occur. In this case, to be on the safe side, you should replace the seat. Destroy the old seat to ensure that it cannot be used for another child. If the car can be repaired, also have all the seat belts activated during the accident replaced.

  • Is it safe to use second-hand car seats?

    Answer

We advise against purchasing a used car seat. The history of a second-hand car seat is often unknown. In other words, you cannot know for certain how it has been used. Car seats that have been involved in an accident are no longer guaranteed to be safe. The car seat may also be damaged in some other manner or may be incomplete.

  • My car seat is defective. What should I do?

    Answer

In addition to the sale of our product, we have entrusted the service and guarantees of our products to a number of official dealers/retailers (see our website). After all, it is from the retailer that you bought the product, and he is therefore obliged to deal with your complaints and settle them in the correct manner.

  • What are the rules for using a car seat in an airplane?

    Answer

There are no international rules for using a car seat in an airplane. If the baby is 0 to 13 months, a car seat can make air travel easier and safer. The Bébé Confort Pebble have been legally approved for aircraft use, in accordance with the guidelines of the German TüV certification agency. This can be seen by the TüV approval sticerk on the side of the product. In all cases, the airline must be informed about any use of a car seat on a plane. Ask your travel agency or airline when booking your tickets about the rules and possibilities. The Bébé Confort Pebble must be installed in a rear-facing position, just as in a car, only using the lap belt in the airline seat. The belt must be threaded through the blue belt hooks and secured tightly. If you have any specific installation questions, consult the cabin crew, since every aircraft has a different seat layout.

  • Where can I find the ECE R44/03 or ECE R44/04 marking?

    Answer

All new Bébé Confort car seats comply with the most recent ECE R44/04 standard. A white and orange sticker has been affixed to the back or bottom of your Bébé Confort product. The orange section shows the code ECE R44/04, the last 2 number of which indicate the version. On older models, this can be seen by the ‘approval number’ under the small circle on the sticker. This approval number starts with 03 or 04, which stands for the ECE R44/03 and ECE R44/04 standard.

  • Where can I find the prices?

    Answer

Our prices are the recommended prices and these can only be obtained from the retailer.

  • Why do I need a car seat?

    Answer

The use of an approved child car seat is required by law for all children up to a height of 1.35 metres. This requirement applies to all countries that belong to the European Union. Car seats and boosters with ECE R44/04 certification meet the minimum requirements of this new law.

  • Are adapters available to install my infant car seat on a pushchair or buggy?

    Answer

For some Bébé Confort car seats, adaptors are available separately for use on a pram and/or pushchair.
We recommend taking your car seat and pram to your retailer to check whether adapters are available.

  • Can I install the Bébé Confort Pebble on the front passenger seat?

    Answer

Yes, you may install the Bébé Confort Pebble on the front passenger seat, but only if the airbag has been deactivated. The Bébé Confort Pebble can be installed with a base, i.e. the Bébé Confort FamilyFix (IsoFix), or the car seat belt. Very few cars have IsoFix anchor points installed on the front passenger seat, so installation is only possible using a 3-point car seat belt. See the car manual for more information.

  • Can my premature newborn be transported in the Bébé Confort Pebble?

    Answer

We advise again using any kind of infant car seat for premature babies. The use of a car seat is not recommended until the child has reached a healthy weight of 2500 grams: NEW GUIDELINE: ANY CHILD THAT IS ALLOWED TO LEAVE THE HOSPITAL MAY BE TRANSPORTED IN A GROUP 0+ CAR SEAT

  • Can the Bébé Confort Pebble be installed in the car using a 2-point seat belt system?

    Answer

The Bébé Confort Pebble is not designed to be installed using a 2-point seat belt system. This car seat may only be installed using a 3-point seat belt system (approved in accordance with the ECE R16 standard) or, preferably, onto the Bébé Confort FamilyFix base, which is attached directly to the IsoFix anchor points in the car.

  • Can the Bébé Confort FamilyFix base be installed in any car?

    Answer

No, the Bébé Confort FamilyFix can only be installed in cars equipped with the IsoFix system. There are, however, some exceptions to this. See the “List of Car Makes” at www.bebe-confort.com.

  • Can the Bébé Confort Pebble be used in an airplane?

    Answer

Yes, the Bébé Confort Pebble can be used in an airplane. The seat has special certification for this purpose (see the sticker on the bottom of the seat).

  • Does the Bébé Confort Pebble sun canopy provide UV protection?

    Answer

The Bébé Confort Pebble sun canopy is made of black fabric that protects against both sunlight and UV rays.

  • From what age can the support pillow be removed from the Bébé Confort infant car seat?

    Answer

The support pillow provides your child with added comfort right after birth. There is no specific age at which the support pillow should be removed from the Bébé Confort car seat. This depends on the size of your child. Once you notice that your child is no longer lying comfortably because his or her head is lying on the ‘roll’, you can remove the support pillow from the Bébé Confort car seat.

  • How long can I use the Bébé Confort car seats without a break when travelling by car?

    Answer

This is subject to a lot of misunderstanding. This is generally said and written out of concern for babies and, in a nutshell, boils down to the fact that a baby car seat such as e.g. a Bébé Confort Pebble should not be used excessively. Children should not lie in a fixed position for too long unnecessarily. They must be given the opportunity to develop their motor system and arm, back and neck muscles. As manufacturers of the first car seat for babies in Europe, we have of course been including this in our instructions for many years. So do not place a baby in his or her seat for the entire day for reasons of convenience, but give him or her the opportunity to develop. This also applies to front pack carriers and all other products in which a baby sits, hangs or lies in a stationary position. However, this will not be a problem at all if you need to make a relatively long car journey or holiday trip once in a while. Our advice is as follows: stop once every 2 hours. After all, the baby must also eat and be cleaned on a regular basis.

  • Is it still safe to use the Bébé Confort FamilyFix if the batteries have gone dead?

    Answer

Once installed, the safety is not affected by the batteries; the lights and/or sound serve only to indicate correct or incorrect installation. If the batteries have died, this feedback can no longer be given. So it is important to change the batteries in time. Batteries that are low in voltage or about to die are indicated by the LED light.

  • On which pushchairs can I place the Bébé Confort Streety.fix, Bébé Confort Creatis.fix or the Bébé Confort Pebble?

    Answer

The Bébé Confort Streety.fix, Bébé Confort Créatis.fix and Bébé Confort Pebble can be used with the following Bébé Confort pushchairs: Loola, Loola Up, Elea, Streety, High Trek and Mila.
The Bébé Confort Pebble also fits on Quinny brand pushchairs by removing the adaptors clipped on car seat (see the user manual of the Bébé Confort Pebble).
Some pushchairs of other brands proposed a compatibility with the Bébé Confort Pebble by using special adaptors they provide. Bébé Confort is not managing those extra compatibilities. Please refer to the pushchair retailer for more information.

  • Should the carrying handle on my infant car seat be placed in an upright position when installed in the car?

    Answer

The carrying handle is part of the safety concept of Maxi-Cosi infant car seats and must always be placed upright when driving. This also applies when used with the FamilyFix frame. Read the user manual for the car seat. Placing the carrying handle in the upright position protects the child in the event that the car seat rotates towards the back of the rear car seat. The carrying handle also protects against any large objects that might fly through the air near the child. Once the child is securely fastened in the harnesses, his or her head and arms will not hit the carrying handle in the event of an accident.

  • What are the test results for the Bébé Confort Pebble?

    Answer

The results of an independent consumer test are expected soon.

  • When should my child switch from his first Bébé Confort infant car seat to the next car seat?

    Answer

We recommend that your child remain in the first car seat, Group 0 or 0+ (0-13 months) i.e. facing backwards, as long as possible because this is the safest and usually the most comfortable position. As long as the back of your child's head is fully supported by the plastic shell, we recommend using the infant car seat. The length of the child’s legs is not an important factor here. It is extremely unwise to put a child into a larger, forward-facing car seat too early.

  • Why do babies have to travel in a reward facing position?

    Answer

Babies have a large and heavy head compared to the rest of their body. In addition, their neck muscles are not yet fully developed. If the baby is transported in a forward-facing position, his or her head will be thrown forward in the event of a head-on collision. This can cause serious neck injury and may even be fatal. By placing the baby in a rear-facing position, the forces exerted during the crash will be distributed across the baby’s entire back.

  • Can I also install the Bébé Confort Pearl using the car’s seat belt?

    Answer

No, that is not allowed. The Bébé Confort Pearl is ONLY suitable for installation together with the Bébé Confort FamilyFix and to the IsoFix anchor points in the car.

  • Can I install the Bébé Confort Pearl on the front passenger seat?

    Answer

Yes, if the car has IsoFix anchor points on the front seat, but we recommend deactivating the airbag or placing the front passenger seat in the rearmost position. Most cars, however, are not fitted with IsoFix anchor points on the front passenger seat. This means that it is often not possible to install the car seat on the passenger seat.

  • How many sitting and sleeping positions does the Bébé Confort Pearl have?

    Answer

The Bébé Confort Pearl has five comfortable positions - from a sitting to a sleeping position - and can be easily adjusted from the front.

  • I am unable to adjust the headrest on the Bébé Confort Pearl. What should I do?

    Answer

The headrest is also used to adjust the height of the shoulder belts. To adjust the headrest, you need to first open the belt buckle, flap it forward, and then loosen the shoulder belts. If you hold down the button behind the grey part of the cover, you can adjust the headrest by moving it up or down.

  • I can still pull out my car seat belt, which means the car seat can move around. Is this safe?

    Answer

In the event of a sudden stop or accident, the car seat belt will block automatically and the child car seat will be unmovable as a result. The Bébé Confort Priori XP and Bébé Confort Axiss are all equipped with a tensioner that makes it possible to tighten the car seat belt for a tighter fit and secure the car seat more firmly.

  • Is it possible to mount my car seat (Group 1) onto the frame of my pushchair?

    Answer

This is not possible with our current range of products. Our products are developed with a strong focus on safety, quality and user-friendliness. The combination you are asking about would require that we make concessions to these three aspects. We have decided against making such concessions at this time.

  • My child climbs out of the belt system on the car seat.

    Answer

The same principle applies to all car seats and means that your child cannot create extra space if there is no extra space to begin with. Some children have shown us that, with only a minimum of slack in the belt system, they can get a hand between the buckle and their stomach and then, by moving it towards their head, they can get an elbow under the belts – but this requires a very flexible shoulder. These children display a tremendous desire to free themselves from their car seat. Child safety in the car and freedom of movement are not compatible in principle. To transport a child not only safely but also comfortably, a slight amount of slack in the belt system is needed. If the belt is pulled extremely tightly and the child is sitting calmly in the car seat, experience has taught us that all car seats are the same when it comes to 'climbing out of the car seat'. We see a similar pattern in children ages 1-4 years in car seats of various types and from various manufacturers. The belt system is a closed system that keeps the child in the same position continuously - during normal car trips as well as during a sudden stop or accident. This system is closed by securing the child when tightening the belts. If this is done properly, the belts cannot be loosened during use (if this does happen, we ask that you contact our Service Department through the retailer where you bought the product).

  • The back of the Bébé Confort Pearl knocks against the car headrest. What should I do?

    Answer

If the car headrest obstructs the proper functioning of the Bébé Confort Pearl, such as when adjusting it into the reclining position, we recommend removing the headrest.

  • The belts are not the same length. Why is this?

    Answer

Uneven belts may be caused by the incorrect guiding of the harness system. Check at the back of the car seat that the belts are not twisted and that the pull belt (that runs forward at the bottom of the shell) is in the middle of the system. Also check that the belt can move easily to and fro through the shoulder openings. For smooth movement, the belt buckle should be flapped forward completely. This belt buckle operates by releasing the belt tensioner. If the problem continues after you have checked this, consult your retailer.

  • The colour indicator switches to silver or red when driving. Is this normal?

    Answer

The colour indicator is only an installation aid. There is only a difference of a few millimetres between red/green or silver/green. So the colour may change if your child moves. The important thing is that, when you drive off, the belts are tightened properly and the indicator is on green. The indicator is to remind you of this. Naturally it is possible that the indicator switches to red again while driving as a result of your child’s movements. This is normal and has no effect on safety.

  • What are the test results for the Bébé Confort Pearl?

    Answer

The results of an independent consumer test are expected soon.

  • What should I do if my child opens the buckle of his harness belt?

    Answer

In this case, we recommend, as do all international safety experts, that you stop immediately in a safe place, fasten the buckle once more and tell the child he should not open it and the reason for this. It is always a possibility that an inventive, handy or strong child will open the buckle. If the force required to open the buckle were to be considerably increased to make it impossible for the child to open it himself, this would be contrary to the legal safety standards. The position of the buckle, the colour of the button, and the operating or opening force are all laid down in European standards. In the case of an accident, someone providing assistance without any knowledge of car seats must be able to see immediately how to release the child from a car seat in an emergency.

  • When the buckle is open, I can no longer lengthen the harnesses, as if they are stuck. What's the problem?

    Answer

This may happen because the belt buckle is not flapped forward enough. Pushing this forward by hand will release the blockage, so that you can loosen the harnesses.

  • Are children taller than 1.50 metres required to sit in a child car seat?

    Answer

No, but they must wear a car seat belt!

  • Can I add the air cushions to my current Rodi?

    Answer

The air cushions on the Rodi AirProtect are integrated foam parts and cannot be added after production.

  • Can I replace or inflate the air cushions in the Rodi AirProtect myself?

    Answer

The air cushions in the Rodi AirProtect are specially developed with shock-absorbent foam inside a perforated air cushion, which means they cannot be inflated. The air cushions cannot be replaced because they are integrated into the car seat.

  • How should I clean the car seat?

    Answer

You can clean the car seat with a vacuum cleaner. You can also blow it clean with compressed air. Any food remains that are stuck to it can be removed using a slightly damp cloth. Make sure that the foam parts do not get wet.

  • I dropped my Rodi (XP, AirProtect) car seat on the ground. Do I have to replace it now?

    Answer

No, that is not necessary if it was a normal ‘drop’ and not an extremely hard one or from a considerable height. When a car seat is dropped on the ground, it is not subject to the same kinds of forces as are exerted during a (serious) collision. There is therefore no need to replace the car seat.

  • Is it possible to change the Rodi XP from a sitting to a reclining position with my child in it?

    Answer

Yes, it is possible to change the position of the Rodi XP from sitting to reclining while your child is in it. But this can be difficult due to your child's weight. When changing the position, the lap belt tightens, which also makes changing positions more difficult.

  • Is it true that it is no longer allowed to use a booster cushion/seat without back support?

    Answer

Not only Bébé Confort, but also independent consumer organisations like the Dutch Consumers’ Association advise strongly against using a seat booster without back support. Back support is essential, particularly for reasons of side impact protection, though also due to the positioning of the seat belt around the neck and chest. Booster seats and cushions without back support are not yet prohibited, but must comply with the minimum requirements of the ECE R44/03 and ECE R44/04 standards.

  • May children under the age of 3 be transported in a car without seat belts?

    Answer

No, children under the age of 3 may not be transported in a car without 3-point safety belts. A car seat is required in cars equipped with a 3-point safety belt.

  • My car has headrests on the back seat, making it very difficult to install the seat. Is it safe to remove these headrests?

    Answer

You have two options: 1. You can try to rotate the headrest so that the smooth back side of the headrest supports the car seat. This is the best solution because it still allows you to install the ‘anchor’ between the back section and the headrest on the car seat between the rear seat and headrest of your car. 2. If this is not possible, you can remove the headrest entirely. Safety tests (crash tests) in connection with European standard requirements have also been carried out on a test bench without headrests.

  • Can I exchange my Fero/FeroFix?

    Answer

No, the FeroFix is a high quality product and during normal use it meets the high standards. In case of any specific questions or issues with your product, please contact our local consumer contact center or store where you bought the product.

  • How can I be sure the BBC RodiFix has no unwanted chemicals?

    Answer

The composition of the covers and fabrics has been changed and because this is not visible from the outside we changed the name of the product. The RodiFix covers match the most strict international textile norms – Ökotex. We expect the consumer organisation to test the product and we trust the results will be okay.

  • Is there a risk/problem with this chemical when I continue to use my Fero/FeroFix?

    Answer

No, you can be sure that the presence of chemicals in the Bébé Confort FeroFix is far below the presence which poses a risk to the health and/or safety of children and/or parents. This has been confirmed by RPS Netherlands, a company specialized in human and environmental health and safety management on which Bébé Confort relies to assess the risk of substances contained in its products. What is more, our products fully comply to the EU regulations.

  • What’s the difference between the FeroFix and RodiFix?

    Answer

We changed the composition of the cover and fabrics of the RodiFix. All the other elements of the car seat are exactly the same.

  • What is the problem with the FeroFix?

    Answer

The FeroFix was tested by and received negative press on one specific chemical element, despite the excellent results on crash safety and ease of use. The presence of this chemical in the FeroFix was extremely low, in compliance with European regulations and, during the normal use of these products it does not pose any health risk for children or for parents at all

  • The seat belt does not retract when my child falls asleep in the Bébé Confort Rodi. What should I do?

    Answer

The Bébé Confort Rodi XP and AirProtect provide greater sitting comfort and safety for your child. Both the child and the car seat are secured with the seat belt. The Bébé Confort Rodi AirProtect has a reclining position, while the Bébé Confort XP does not. If a child falls asleep and slumps forward, the seat belt will gradually move forward together with the child. This is a feature of automatic belts. If the automatic mechanism does not roll up the belt properly, the third belt point (direction of the automatic mechanism) is probably in an incorrect position, i.e. placed too far forward. The seat belt is then threaded at an almost impossible angle, resulting in too much friction in the belt hook. This situation can occur in some station wagons, for example. For this reason we recommend that you try installing the car seat in your car before purchasing it. Your retailer can help you with this. Note: Always secure a Rodi seat with the belt, even when there is no child sitting in it.

  • What accessories are available for the Bébé Confort Rodi XP and the Rodi AirProtect?

    Answer

The following accessories are available for the Bébé Confort Rodi seats: cup holder and summer cover.

  • What is the difference between the Rodi XP produced in the past and the current Rodi XP?

    Answer

The ‘old’ Rodi XP (produced before 2007) has a Comfort Base that is used to adjust the seat into the reclining position. The ‘updated’ Rodi XP does not have a reclining position, but features a new and improved Side Protection System compared to the ‘old’ Rodi XP.

  • When should I make the transition from a Group I car seat to a Group 2/3 car seat?

    Answer

For the safety of your child, we recommend using the Group I car seat (9 months to 3 1/2 years/9-18 kg) for as long as possible. Wait to switch your child to a next stage car seat until your child has reached the maximum weight limit or if the top of your child’s head protrudes above the top edge of the seat. As long as the back of your child's head is fully supported by the shell, we advise against making the switch just yet, so that your child can be offered the best possible protection.

  • I do not have IsoFix anchor points in my car. Can I have them installed?

    Answer

This is usually not possible because the IsoFix anchors are almost always installed during production in the factory and are attached to the chassis of the car. However, there are a number of car makes that have been offering the IsoFix system for a number of years as an “option”. In these cars, the assembly points for the anchors are already integrated into the bottom of the car body. Audi and Volvo, for example, offer this option. Talk to your car dealer for more information.

  • I have a Bébé Confort FamilyFix base and Bébé Confort Pearl. Do the Bébé Confort next stage car seats Rodi XP or Air Protect fit onto the base?

    Answer

No, they do not. With Group 2/3 car seats such as the Rodi XP or Air Protect, children are secured in the seat using the car seat belt, making it unnecessary to attach the seat to a base.

  • Is IsoFix safer than installing with a car seat belt?

    Answer

If installed properly, a Bébé Confort car seat is the safest in its class. The IsoFix method prevents incorrect installation of the car seat, but is no safer than when the seat is installed using the traditional method. IsoFix prevents incorrect installation because a colour indicator (red or green) is used to indicate the correct installation of various parts.

  • There is space between the Pearl and the FamilyFix. Is this safe?

    Answer

The FamilyFix is secured to the bottom of the car body by the two IsoFix anchor points. The left lamp on the indicator panel on the FamilyFix will turn green to confirm that the seat is installed correctly. The strong connection between the two guarantees maximum safety, regardless of any noises you might hear. The Pearl has two sturdy metal spindles on the bottom. The FamilyFix has 4 hooks that are attached to these spindles on the Pearl. Once the 4 hooks are secure around the 2 spindles, the maximum safety of the system is guaranteed. The right lamp on the indicator panel on the FamilyFix will turn green to confirm that the seat is secured correctly. To ensure that the Pearl can always be installed onto the FamilyFix easily in all instances, there must be some space between the spindles and hooks. This space is what causes the slack. This slack does not affect safety in any way whatsoever. The sound that may result from this extra space depends on a number of factors. The shape of the back seat and the installation of the FamilyFix may affect this. You could try to push the FamilyFix more firmly against the back of the car seat. It is also possible in some cars to adjust the back of the car passenger seat. If this is possible, you can adjust the back so that it fits firmly against the Pearl.

  • What is IsoFix?

    Answer

IsoFix is a (new) attachment system for car seats in modern cars. Special IsoFix attachment points are installed in the car in the factory during production. This means that the car seat does not need to be installed in the car using the car seat belts. Car seats that are older than the past few years cannot be installed using this system. IsoFix seats have been specially designed for this system and are equipped with IsoFix adapters.

  • Which Bébé Confort car seats are installed using IsoFix?

    Answer

Bébé Confort has several car seats that can installed using IsoFix. Some are installed in combination with a base: Bébé Confort FamilyFix base combined with the Bébé Confort Pebble followed by the base combined with the Pearl, for children ages 9 months to 3½ years.

  • Why does the Bébé Confort need a support leg to support IsoFix products?

    Answer

This support leg serves several functions. The support leg prevents the car seat from rotating (tipping) in the event of an accident. If the support leg is not used, the car seat may be pushed so far into the seat of the car during a front-end collision that the child will be thrown forward and may even hit the front seat or dashboard. The support leg is equipped with an indicator that shows whether the installation is correct. All IsoFix products from Bébé Confort have indicators so that you can immediately see whether the car seat has been installed correctly. The indicators are located on the steel IsoFix anchor points and the support leg: a green colour appears if the support leg is adjusted properly. The IsoFix products from Bébé Confort rank among the very best and safest car seats on the market. Your child is guaranteed optimal safety with our IsoFix products.

  • Are adapters available for installing my infant car seat on a pram and/or pushchair?

    Answer

All Bébé Confort prams and puschairs are compatible with a Bébé Confort infant car seat or are delivered with adapters. A number of other pushchair manufacturers also offer adapters that can be used to attach the Bébé Confort infant car seat to the frame. Ask your retailer whether there are any adapters available that can be used with your pushchair.

  • Can I take my pushchair on an airplane?

    Answer

Most airline companies will permit only a single, small and fully collapsible pushchair (5-7 kg) in the cabin. In most cases, you will have to check in your pushchair at the check-in counter. We recommend inquiring with the airline beforehand about what the specific rules are, since these may differ per airline.

  • Can the Bébé Confort bassinet/carrycot be used for sleeping at night?

    Answer

The Bébé Confort bassinet offers your child a comfortable place to nap, such as during walks. But to ensure a good night’s rest, we recommend having your child sleep in a crib at night. The mattress in a crib is thicker, ventilates better, and is therefore specially designed to offer your child a more comfortable night’s rest.

  • How long is my pushchair guaranteed for?

    Answer

We have entrusted not only the sale, but also the service and guarantees of our products to a number of official dealers/retailers . Your retailer sold you the pushchair, which means that he or she is responsible for dealing with your complaints and to ensure they are resolved appropriately. The specific warranty conditions can also be found at www.bebe-confort.com. To pursue a claim against the factory warranty, you must submit your proof of purchase to the baby specialty shop where you bought the product.

  • How should I maintain my pushchair?

    Answer

Pneumatic tyres: The tyres are fitted with a car tyre valve. They can be inflated using the pump supplied or at a garage/petrol station. Make sure not to exceed the maximum pressure of 1.8 Bar. Also make sure that all tyres are inflated sufficiently and equally (at least 1.5 Bar, maximum of 1.8 Bar/26 PSI), to ensure the pushchair is comfortable to push and to prevent premature wear and tear. Hard parts: The frame and wheels on the Bébé Confort pushchairs are easy to clean. Remove all dirt, mud and other debris using a damp cloth. Do not use silicon lubricants, as they will attract dirt and grime. Use a dry Teflon spray instead. Fabrics: The fabric parts of the Bébé Confort pushchairs must be washed by hand.

    Answer

Bébé Confort offers two types of soother: natural rubber or silicone.

It’s a good idea to offer both to your baby – they will soon decide which they like best!

  • Should I clean or sterilise my baby’s soother? And if so, how?

    Answer

You should sterilise the soother before it is used for the first time.
The soother can also be sterilised occasionally during your baby’s first few months, but there’s no need to do this continually.
However, the soother must be cleaned in tap water and rinsed several times a day – and always after your baby drops it.
Never clean the soother in your mouth – you may pass on germs to your baby.
For hygiene, keep your baby’s soother in a travel box when it’s not being used.

  • When should I replace the soother?

    Answer

Replace the soother as soon as you see signs of wear and tear on the teat or the ring, or after three months of use.

    Answer

We have been listening to babies for over 75 years and are widely respected as knowledgeable and experienced childcare experts. We work with midwives, paediatricians, orthodontists and psychologists to continually research and develop new products, and improve our existing ranges.
That’s why you can be confident that Bébé Confort soothers and teething rings are perfectly safe and the best choice for your baby.

Refrigerated rings are particularly useful when your baby is in severe pain because the cold will soothe their gums immediately.
Simply put the ring in the fridge for one to two hours before use. When the ring warms up, return it to the fridge to cool again.
It’s best to have at least two rings, so there is always one ready in the fridge for baby to use.

  • What are the symptoms of teething?

    Answer

Teething is often a difficult time for both baby and parents. Your child will teethe several times up to the age of two and a half.
The signs of teething vary from child to child, but you may notice that your baby:
    • has swollen gums;
    • is a little grumpy;
    • cries more than usual;
    • salivates more than usual;
    • has a slight fever (38°);
    • has lost their appetite;
    • has redness or irritation on the cheeks and/or buttocks;
    • isn’t sleeping well.

Fortunately, you can do a lot to soothe your baby just by being there and providing a teething ring. The teething ring can be refrigerated if the pain is intense.
You will then have the delight of seeing your baby’s first tooth when they are about six months old! Teeth usually come in pairs, starting with the front teeth, then the side, and then the back. So your child will experience teething over several months even after the first teeth appear.

  • Which teething ring should I give to my baby?

    Answer

Teething rings come in all shapes, sizes and materials to meet your baby’s different needs during the various stages of teething:
    • Refrigerated rings help soothe very intense pain. The cold anaesthetises the gum’s sensitive area.
    • Rattle rings will appeal to your baby with their colours and shapes. If given one to hold, they will automatically put it in their mouth and soothe their gums.
    • Thin, flat rings are particularly suitable when the very first teeth appear because they are light and easy for baby to manage.
    • Ring-soothers are ideal for applying soothing gels to baby’s gums.

Our range of expert Bébé Confort Maternity rings has been developed to suit each stage of teething and soothe your baby’s pain as effectively as possible.

  • How should I cut my child’s nails?

    Answer

Check the condition of baby’s nails regularly so they don’t hurt themselves with a broken or long nail. When you need to cut their nails:
    • Pick a time when your child is calm, for example after a meal.
    • Use suitable scissors that have been disinfected. For safety, we suggest using:
    - rounded scissors with short, curved blades (keep in a safety case); or
    - an ergonomic nail-clipper.
    • Sit your baby on your knees with their back firmly against you.
    • Pass your arm under their armpit and hold your baby’s fingers as you cut the nails one by one.
    • Always cut the nails straight across.

    Please ensure you don’t:
    • cut your baby’s nails before the age of one month. If necessary, just use a nail file to smooth your baby’s nails
    • forget to disinfect the scissors before using them
    • damage the skin around the nail

  • I find the closing clip difficult to open

    Answer

The clip may seem difficult to open, especially when you first try. However, this quickly becomes easy after a few uses. Remember, the clip has been specially designed to offer some resistance to being opened in order to avoid the following risks:
    - to prevent baby from opening the product
    - to prevent the product from opening accidentally, if it falls, for example.

  • I sometimes find it difficult to close the clip

    Answer

To avoid this, make sure the ring fits firmly onto the bottle itself and keep pressing the top of the ring while you try to close the clip. In this way the clip will open and close smoothly.

  • The closing clip twists when I want to close the bottle

    Answer

The closing clip may become twisted at the sides when you close the bottle. This does not mean the clip will break as it has been designed to be very flexible.
To avoid this, make sure the ring fits firmly onto the bottle itself and keep pressing the top of the ring when closing the clip. In this way the clip will open and close smoothly.

  • The closing clip on my blue Easy Clip is turning white at the sides

    Answer

After repeated use, the closing clip on your blue Easy Clip may turn white at the sides. Don't worry! This discolouration in no way means the clip has weakened. The plastic material is intended for repeated use and its flexibility means it won't break.

  • I worry that my baby will open the bottle on his own

    Answer

If your baby is older and is dextrous enough, he will try to open his Easy Clip bottle! Just remember we have developed a very resistant clip to precisely avoid this kind of problem. However, as with any screw-on bottle top, we will never be able to stop baby trying to imitate mummy and daddy!

  • The teat of my Easy Clip bottle collapses/becomes squashed when my child is drinking

    Answer

A teat collapses or becomes squashed when the air control valve (which prevents colic and possetting) does not properly engage. The Easy Clip closing mechanism is designed to avoid this problem. However, the material used for the teat may cause the valve to stick. In this case, simply remove the teat and gently pull on both sides of the valve (on the neck of the teat) to unblock it.

Causes of wear and tear include:
    • when baby starts to feed more vigorously and has begun teething;
    • variations in temperature;
    • chemical sterilisation;
    • vigorous use of a bottle brush.

To prolong the life of teats, you can:
    • use the proper teat-rinse bottle brush for gentle cleaning, without using too much force around the openings;
    • avoid prolonged exposure of the teats to air and sunlight;
    • store teats in a drawer or a box when they are thoroughly dry.

    • Wash your hands.
    • Rinse the bottle in hot water after feeding, before the milk starts to dry.
    • Scrub it thoroughly in a small amount of soapy water.
    • If dried milk is hard to remove, soak the bottle in very hot soapy water and use a bottle brush with a sponge tip to remove deposits from all the corners.
    • Make sure you rinse the bottles properly and put them upside-down to drain.

  • Safety warning...

    Answer

Remember that baby’s bottles will also have to be thoroughly cleaned on a regular basis.

  • What are bisphenol A and phthalates?

    Answer

    Bisphenol A
Bisphenol A (BPA) is a chemical compound found in polycarbonates. It has been used for many years to make plastic objects such as bottles, the inside of drinks cans, and babies’ bottles.
Polycarbonate has always been used for babies’ bottles because of its transparency and heat-resistance.
Several studies have shown that BPA is an endocrine disruptor which can cause hormonal and genetic disorders. As a precaution, France stopped the marketing, import and export of baby bottles containing BPA from July 2010.
From June 2011, European law will also ban the sale of baby bottles containing BPA across Europe. (Directive no. 2011/8/EU).

    Phthalates
Phthalates are chemical substances used to make PVC material more flexible. Some phthalates are now classified as CMRs (carcinogenic, mutagenic and reprotoxic chemicals) and have not been used in toys and childcare articles. since 2007 (Directive No. 2005/84/EC and Regulation EC No. 552/2009).

  • What is the best way to prepare baby’s bottles?

    Answer

Make sure the bottle you are going to use is clean and sterile (see above), then follow these steps:

    • Once warm, add the required quantity of milk and put on the ring and teat.
    • Gently shake the bottle to thoroughly dissolve the powder.
    • Ensure the temperature of the feed is consistent throughout, but don’t just rely on the bottle’s external temperature – always check the temperature by pouring a few drops on your wrist.
    • That’s it! You’ve taken all the necessary precautions and can now enjoy feeding your baby!

  • How can I overcome engorged breasts

    Answer

Engorgement means hard breasts that can become painful. This is normal in the first week as your milk comes in.
Try to feed your baby as often as possible from both breasts. The hardening and swelling will subside once your baby is fed. Your breasts will then adjust over time, making the right amount of milk for your baby.
    • If your breasts are very tight and your baby is struggling to breastfeed, express a little milk before nursing to soften your breasts.
    • You can use a breast pump to start your supply of breast milk. If you know you’ll be away from your baby at a feed time, it’s also useful to express your milk before leaving.

We recommend our soothing breastfeeding compresses to help decongest your breasts and reduce the pain that can occur with surges of milk.
It can also help to immerse your breasts in a bowl of warm water or take a warm shower.

  • How can I overcome sore nipples?

    Answer

The first weeks of breastfeeding can sometimes be painful.

    Prevention
The single most important way to prevent sore nipples is to ensure that your baby is attached to your breast correctly from the start. If feeding is painful, take your baby off the breast by inserting a clean finger gently into their mouth, and then try again.

    If your nipples become sore
To help healing try, where possible, to keep your breasts uncovered and open to the air.
We also recommend our milk collection containers. These protect nipples and allow air circulation to help healing. They also prevent uncomfortable rubbing on your skin.
If feeding continues to be painful, you should ask for further advice from your doctor or health visitor.

  • How can I protect my breasts?

    Answer

You do not need to clean your breasts or nipples in a special way before or after feeding your baby. Simply rinse your breasts with plain water while having your daily bath or shower.
Bébé Confort Maternity has developed several products to help protect your breasts and breast milk, including:
    • silicone nipple shields for optimum suckling comfort;
    • milk collection containers to protect nipples and promote healing;
    • soothing compresses to help breastfeeding and reduce breast pain.

  • How do I clean and sterilise my breast pump?

    Answer

Always sterilise your Bébé Confort Maternity manual breast pump before you use it.
You can use boiling water or a steam sterilizer to sterilise all of the pump’s parts, except for the ring. If using boiling water, the parts should be immersed for about ten minutes before using it for the first time, and then for five to ten minutes before each subsequent use.
Do remember that the pump must also be thoroughly washed: you can forget to sterilise the pump, but never forget to wash it!
Leave all the parts to cool before using the pump.
Please don’t sterilise any part of your pump in a microwave as this may cause damage.

  • If I breastfeed, do I need any equipment?

    Answer

We recommend that you have a bottle and some formula baby milk in store in case there are times when you can’t breastfeed for any reason. This will give you peace of mind.
It’s also a very good idea to have some sterilisation tablets so you can sterilise accessories such as dummies and chew toys while baby is less than five months old.

  • Are there different types of cups?

    Answer

Yes. Each cup in our range of matching bowls, plates and cups has its own specific use:
    • The multi-function cup is a transitional cup designed to help your baby move from a bottle to a cup, and then to a glass. It also helps your child get used to different types of food and drink. The cup has handles to help your baby hold it, and they can get used to the shape by using it first with a teat, then with a soft spout.
    • The wobbly cup helps baby become independent as it can’t be tipped over when being handled by inexperienced fingers!
    • The unbreakable non-spill cup is a peace-of-mind option, suitable for your child to use anywhere without constant supervision.

  • Can all bowls, plates and cups go in the microwave?

    Answer

No, not all of them. Please read the instructions on the packaging.
For example, melamine-coated plates and cups should not be microwaved. However, they do offer a great choice of fun and colourful designs and are very popular.
Stage crockery from Bébé Confort has been specially developed for use in the microwave and freezer. This means you can prepare baby’s meals in advance in suitable portions and microwave them directly from the freezer. This is ideal when, for example, you are out and about, or need to take baby’s meals to your childminder.

  • What are the main benefits of putting my child in a carrycot at a higher position?

    Answer

A carrycot is a very convenient product, but it requires that you bend down to place or remove your baby. Combined with the Keyo stand, your carrycot is always at the right height to avoid back pains and can be used instead of a cradle from birth.

  • What are the main benefits of putting my child in the bouncer at a higher position?

    Answer

When used in combination with the Keyo stand, the Keyo bouncer makes sure your baby is at the right height to avoid straining the parent's back. It also keeps your baby away from dirty floors and prevents pets from coming close to the baby. Also, since the baby is not on the floor, he or she can join the family for meals together around the table.

  • What makes the Keyo bouncer a safer option?

    Answer

To keep their baby away from the floor, some parents place the bouncer on a table or sofa, which is extremely dangerous because of the risk of the baby falling. The Keyo bouncer allows your baby to sit safely at a convenient height when used in combination with the Keyo stand. The Keyo bouncer is equipped with a 5-point harness to secure the baby safely in place.

  • When can I start using the Keyo high chair?

    Answer

You can start using it once your baby can sit up independently, usually at around the age of 6 months.

  • Which products (items) can I put on a Keyo stand?

  • Should I choose a rubber or silicone soother?

    Answer

Bébé Confort offers two types of soother: natural rubber or silicone.
Silicone is stiffer, while rubber (or latex) smells and tastes different.
